Really, REALLY, feeling the dub these days. One thing that getting into dubstep has led me into is techno, in particularly, minimal, and dub techno....I absolutely love the dub techno. I found some amazing mixes and whutnot of it at this website, dedicated to this particular sound.

Tons of mixes on here to Download....boy am I going nuts here. Maybe this music is making me over emotional.

Speaking of "over emotion", I rented the movie "Grave of the Fireflies" which could be the most depressing movie I have ever watched. I broke down into sobbing when the credits rolled, that is how hard this movie hits you. And to think it is an anime....

This site: http://www.acroplane.org/ is an amazing FREE net label with all kinds of free albums and singles from some really forward thinking artists. Mostly experimental stuff, but quality tunes never the less. trip hop, ambient, dubstep, jungle, house, techno, whatever.....check it out. Many of these artists have releases on other labels as well. Check it. I just dl'd their latest release by an artist called Igorrr. weird and amazing. B--

check this out, a basically free DAW that is pretty top notch. I am just learning it and attempting to learn everything about making beats and producing. The only thing holding me back is I have to reformat my computer. When I installed XP onto my Vista ready laptop, it screwed up my drivers... So I am reinstalling Vista back on and hopefully.... (fingers crossed) my soundcard with work properly, as right now it is not. Big up my roommate Dan and Futures Untold for telling me about this.

The one thing I am worried about is I have serato on there too, and Vista is a resource hog, so I hope it won't affect my latency with djing too much...correct that, I can't have any issues, Serato NEEDS to work flawlessly, or else I can't Dj correctly and have it feel like vinyl does (I miss you vinyl! It's just not the same.)

On another sad note, www.musicv2.com had gone under and is no longer a functioning site. I'm kinda pissed about that cause I had all my mixes hosted on that site. I also don't know the tracklisting to a bunch of the mixes, and I can't get on the site to access them. Now I guess I either have to find a new site, though I may be able to host them all on Virb. I got one mix up already tonight, so maybe that is the ticket. Not sure if there is a limit to the amount of content I can put on there though. If anyone knows of another good site, let me know. I will also try gotdarker.com, though that is strictly dubstep apparently.

Hey, my first blog post. Anyways, I'll tell ya about BRAPTIZM. BRAPTIZM is a monthly dance party based in Harrisburg, PA, USA, specializing in BASS music, with resident DJ and Promoter DJ Ben Freeman... We feature mostly dubstep, though really anything Bass related is welcome such as drum and bass, glitchy hip hop, reggae/dancehall, ghettotech, bassline, figet house, etc. The concentration is hitting those low frequencies. Started the party off in October 2008 with dj guests Joe Nice and Corey B. Also, we have hosted Kozee, Jaybird feat. Kamala, Ultrablack, Conscious Pilot, Big Basha, Whighzeguy, Hubsmoke, Kai-lo, Coda and Wix. The future looks bright for dubstep in Harrisburg, and the word is spreading. --B
